A few days into this year I was asked for a single word for the year. I thought for a minute and said, “Beginning”. The past couple of years have seen some changes for me and my family. As 2021 came to a close I began to think about the new year, and that it could be a new beginning for us. To begin to see things beyond the pandemic, beyond the loss, beyond the unexpected changes. To Begin…… to start a new….. To START…..
A week or so ago, I began noticing a new word that seemed to be chasing me down. Not that I was thinking about changing my “Word”, but everywhere I turned I seemed to be seeing or hearing this one word, “Dream”. What was funny is that I have a new calendar for this year and even though I ordered it back in December…. it had the words “Start” AND “Dream” on the cover! 😮 So…… I have not changed my “Word”. I have, however, amended my “Words” for this new year…… Begin Your Dream.
What does that look like? Well. For me it looks like working on the next steps of being a business owner. Learning how to grow my business. Stretching myself. Doing things that I am not necessarily so comfortable with, like talking about myself, my business, my talents…… Yes, I am going to have to leave the Comfort Zone of my “behind the curtain”/ behind the scenes thinking. So, I know you’re probably thinking, “Dreams sound hard”. Well, the dreaming portion is the easy part……having courage and the strength to maintain the pursuit and see it come true……. that’s the challenging part.
